Dayspring Woodshop

Dayspring Woodshop is my woodworking shop located in the lower story of the large barn in the picture. In the shop I make custom furniture and cabinets. Smaller single pieces are my favorite projects and winter is the best time for shop work because the farm work is slow and the fishing is on hold. In addition to custom work I make a lot of personal gifts, things for our home, friends and family. Just completed is a kitchen cabinet set for a remodeling job in our kitchen which included 12 new cabinets and a center island. The shop wood inventory includes many species of native woods from our wood lot which are dried in our solar kiln or the new low temperature dehumidification kiln. Work can be done from my plan inventory, or a design can be prepared from your ideas or a photo of something you like.

Please visit the Woodshop Store for a list of stock items I am currently selling. Additionally, view some of my showcased work not being sold online in the gallery. Contact me to discuss any item you may need to be constructed.

The project pictured below is a sewing box for needle point materials. I made this box for my daughter. Its made from Eastern White Pine cut from trees on the farm and processed into boards in my shop. The box contains two attached movable trays with underneath storage. The tops are upholstered and double as a needle cushion. The trays fold out to access the bottom storage area. The box was finished with a stain and wax over shellac.
